Once Elmer Wayne Henley had long hair, it is now shorn. This we can see but no one knows what can be inside Elmer Wayne Henley’s head. He is much older now. His hair speckled with grey. Elmer Wayne Henley no longer looks the same as he did when he was known as Dean Corll’s accomplice.
Elmer Wayne Henley is serving six life sentences with little chance of parole. He is in the Michael Unit state prison about an hour south of Dallas.
What did he do? How did he help Dean Corll? They were imprisoned for bringing the boys to Dean Corll who paid them for each boy. Then he tortured and murderied 27 young boys. That was back in the early 1970s. Dean Corll, and Elmer Henly were implicated in the worst mass murder in the US history, the Houston Mass Murders.
Elmer Henley used to help Dean Corll. They also had a third helper David Owen Brooks. The accomplices were teens to the electrician. The two teens used to blindly obey the older man and lead people to him. He wants to understand why he did that so that noone else will fall to that trap.
He also wants to help identify the victims. When the police dug up the bodies, they were badly decomposed, and their identities obscured. One thing that was not hidden was that they suffered extreme agony before their death.
That was a long time ago, but Sharon Derrick, a forensic anthropologist, has not let up and continues to look for the victims identities.
“I can’t quite let go of them yet. I’ve spent long hours with their remains and I’ve seen what they went through and I just want them to be taken care of,” said Derrick.
She wants to find the identities of the final nameless 3 victims and feels time is running out.
It was Elmer Wayne Henley who called police on Aug. 8, 1973, to report a shooting. It was Elmer himself that shot him. Elmer Wayne Henley said that he did it after Dean COrll threatened to rape and kill him. Henley, also told police that Corll — had also sexually tortured and killed more. He told them the bodies were buried in a boat storage unit.
There were only a few victims he could not name. Sharon Derrick will not rest until she finds their names of these final 3 houston mass murders
Elmer Wayne Henley turned 52 in May and will continue to live his life in jail.

I lived in Houston during that awful time. I remember the posters of David being put up by Wayne and the Hilligeists. The police didn’t give a shit about missing kids - just figured it was a sign of the times and never spent much - if any - time looking for them. I was glad when I left but I’ve never forgotten it. I can’t.
Henley hasn’t changed one bit and if you read around on different web sites his mother is just as hideous. When he was trying to sell paintings at a gallery and his mother was interviewed she was angry at the victims parents being upset he was able to peddle his crap paintings. She actually felt they should get over it …”nothing was going to bring their kids back and just look at what she had to go through”. Any wonder he is such a sick freak?

The man I am marrying next month was a victim of both Henley and Corell and we may never know the depths of the abuse that has haunted my husband to be all this time. He is one of the lucky ones that got away, but has sufferred tremendous pain due to these two very sick men.

well i think that it wasn’t very good… but if you look at it, he was forced to. i mean askin a kid to help you and them getting paid of course they would take that…. but at the same time why would you do such a thing?

All of this happened when I was a teenager. One of our friends went missing and it was rumored that he was one of the victims found in the boat shed. How would I find out if he was ever identified as a victim?

We lived 2 houses away from Wayne in the Heights. My brother lost alot of good friends. My brother was 17 at the time and I was 7. My brother was asked many times by Wayne and Dean to go party with them but he always said he didn’t really trust them so he said no. Thank God because my brother would have been dead. I always thought that Dean was the most wonderful man (for a kid of 7 who got a bag of candy from him at least once a week) it goes too show you how someone could be easily fooled.
I read that too where there was an art show/sale for his paintings and his mother said some bad sh*t. From what I have read he has some weird momma boy problems. I am sure she is old and will die soon and maybe his guts will be ripped out in pain like the parents of those dead kids. Rot in hell Wayne .
